Yesterday, the crowd at the LA Public Library’s booth at the Festival of Books was insane. People were eager to sign up for a library card. I hope it’s the same for them today.
And, yes, I was one of those people. And, yes, I got my library card.

Yesterday, the crowd at the LA Public Library’s booth at the Festival of Books was insane. People were eager to sign up for a library card. I hope it’s the same for them today.

There was a small protest at the Festival of Books at USC.
After they passed us, I overheard a girl say, “Really? A fucking protest at a book festival?” And she sounded mighty disgusted by it.
I hope she knows books are a form of protest. If they weren’t, banning books wouldn’t be a thing.

There was a small protest at the Festival of Books at USC.

Not only do I have to worry about the collapse of democracy and an impending economic recession, now I’m worried about my dog getting kicked out of daycare.
