One amazing thing though was groups reuniting decades later on their own terms. Still making music and touring.

Anyway, I felt a lot of things good and bad watching this doc and I'd highly recommend. Also they used Idol in the end credits 😁

There were so many parallels with kpop, it blew my mind how audacious media here have been when covering 'the dark side of kpop'. It's not a problem unique to kpop, it's a systemic industry problem.

Media scrutiny was intense and exploitative. Tabloid journos actively harassed boybands, destroying them for sport. Labels exploited this, all press is good press and sometimes as a tool to control members. It was sad seeing members of groups tear up as they recounted what they'd been through.

It was interesting seeing groups like Take That pioneer in the UK what we'd now call fan service. Take That were *allegedly* not allowed partners. They kissed fans at fansigns. Every group spoke of punishing schedules, getting around 5 days off a year. Most groups burnt out, lasting just 4 yrs.

This is a real mountain out of a molehill situation. The posts are deranged and the comments are worse. There are def bots in the mix. I've liked a few nice comments and peaced out. I always hope sanity prevails but I'm not holding my breath. I just hope the members aren't hurt by it.
