Sinners is leagues ahead of Emilia Perez. I HATE Emilia Perez

I have no real evidence for this, just pattern recognition, so I don't think that will happen. But if it does, you know why.

Now, I love Sinners. Unlike Emilia Perez, it's a great movie that absolutely deserves to get nominated, though it would be boring if it swept, but if the pattern persists, then it was only nominated to show that the Oscars are progressive, while rewarding the status quo

And now who has taken the mantle for most nominated film in Oscars history? Sinners. A black led, black directed film about cultural assimilation.

On the surface, it seems like a very progressive film, women led, diverse, a trans story line featuring a trans actor, the perfect movie to nominate to look progressive, the only problem is that Emilia Perez is bad and does everything progressive bad and is just a bad film to begin with.

The Oscars has been criticized for years about being catered towards old straight white men and it feels like in recent years they have been trying to distance themselves from that. That's how Anora, a film about a sex worker, won best picture, but it's also how Emilia Perez got 13 nominations.

The very existence of the debate causes it to be identified as a Christmas movie, and without it, I doubt it would ever be considered.

It's really just on Nintendo for not making it clear and I very well could be wrong. Regardless it's objectively hilarious
