London era red. Too many nicer photos of me being next to N. Gaiman, rather unfortunate since last year. At a friend's place before heading out. Short or more cropped dark red hair and red tartan mini. Maybe a bit of an "I know what you want"-ish expression. What is this looking villainous thing you speak of? And how I used to look relatively 'skinny' back in the day and not have realistic ideas of that. Dyed straight long hair blonde, then added fuchsia pink to it. Also featuring one of my favourite shirts ever, long since lost no idea where. Deep dark blue with elaborate nigh filigrane/filigree style patterns in deep yellow with red and some green at the waist and shoulders. Found at a flea market, someone having seemingly made that themselves, too. Not quite fishnet tights but showier black ones under a black thrown on skirt in any case. Darth Elysia does not approve. The same red & black makeup as a certain character from prequels of yore, I'm scowling while the flash makes my eyes look red. The rest of the attire is my old dark green winter coat (which looks black + sable grey here), which I used to swoosh in to the tune of an internal imperial march, with it trailing open behind my tall-ass-ness as if a villain's cape.

The week ago Saturday getting joined by Friday last week in testing things bought, though you can't get any kind of decent eyeshadow photos, anyway. Nor colours I pick normally, but that's what random tests are for.

Ah, you had your chance & squandered it, Ms ♒-♍ mix I had some liking for back in the day. We'd have been an inversely heighted pair with me 2" taller as the woman back then. Alas, I have 0 sexual interest in women even if there had been some personality vibing.
Me and Suzy Eddie back around 2003 I think, April or May possibly, outside the French institute in London. We're both fairly pale in the flash of the camera, me more so, all the way to somewhat shining white. We're both wearing dark blue to black shirts or jackets, and Suzy Eddiekins is still in what went by boy mode back then, with a hint of moustache and stubble on the chin. There's a grin on her face otherwise. My hair is the long dark red that was my usual back then. It was the UK Blueberry-movie "premiere" of sorts, with director Jan Kounen said to be in attendance beforehand already, and me wanting to catch the movie in general, seeing few chances to see it in cinemas even in the UK. I'd liked his Dobermann before that already, as well as Izzard. I arrived by Tube and walked there, and Eddie happened to arrive by cab just as I got there. She asked me if this was (the place), I said yes, though it was the first time there for me as well. I had a disposable camera and asked for a photo, just meaning I'd snap one of her, but instead she took the camera to snap a picture of both of us, before I really had much inkling of selfies or anything back then. I had to ask to wait a second though, as I had to open my ponytail for the photo. So Eddie went "Aah, the hair open thing". Once inside, she was asking the staff something about the movie's showing, possibly where Kounen was or where to go, tho I forget the phrasing used right before the finishing explanatory "Because I'm in it". So we got a post-movie interview or Q & A not only with Kounen but also the surprise Izzard, which was of course a delightful surprise.

Knew I ran into The Cramps picture yesterday for a reason, timely as I can be.

Happy birthdays also to someone reminding me of him now, with Carrie Fisher. 😕😔 Bela Lugosi('s dead...) yesterday.
Lux Interior and Poison Ivy of The Cramps on a bit hazily lit stage, with some amplifiers behind them. She's behind her guitar in front of them on the right; big curly red hair, legs for miles, smokey eyes and a shimmering black-grey shirt with some bra showing at the front I think. Lux is just in the image on the left. He's wearing all black, with those scandalously tight black leather or PVC/latex style trousers clinging to his skinny frame. He's drinking from a wine bottle or something, so his head is thrown back a bit while gulping, his face not really visible. Black boots at the bottom, likely big heels as he was wont to wear those as well. A tremendously sexy man, or an outrageously so one if you prefer. The things done on stage, ohh. Miss you, though I couldn't even claim to have a firm grasp of their catalogue or anything. I used to boost pictures of him in a steady rotation back on Mastodon for some weeks at a time at one stage.

Two photos with far too orangey-yellow looking light that's difficult to get rid of just like that. Elysia in new glasses got June-July. Long, relatively dark hair just opened from a ponytail so a bit all over the place but nice. A thin red summer dress with tiny white polkadots seen up of chest/shoulder level. Eye contact or looking at the camera although the head or face is turned just a tiny bit more to my left here. Make-up includes lipstick on closed lips just kind of, well, not smiling or smirking nor looking mischievous as such, nor quite "I saw what you did there" challenging or anything either. It doesn't look that 1940s vibing here, but with the Gilda-leaning hair, strong lips and the dress there's a hint of such at times. Same, but with the mobile camera a bit further away and from the left side now. You see a bit of the short right sleeve, but my long hair "cascades" down over the shoulder to obscure that. I'm leaning back in the armchair a bit more, and still have the somewhat characteristic of me amused close-lipped smile or look, and here maybe even a "glint" in the eyes.

You probably don't know how difficult cooking is when you have executive dysfunction/are depressed.

Brought to you by fried panang chicken mixed with courgette slices, long green beans and grated red cabbage & carrots. Complex cooking achieved after 8 long years. Yes, grating things is complicated.
Fried panang chicken pieces mixed with courgette slices, long green beans and grated red cabbage & carrots. A pleasingly colourful mixture of greens and bits of purple and orange mixed in with the chicken, all on a frying pan. The panang whatever came with the 270 grams of chicken, but the rest I bought separately with the thought of being able to make some kind of a wok mixture e.g. with such "ingredients" instead of using some pre-prepared mixes to toss on the pan. I wasn't quite sure how much the zucchini slices would make with 2 smallish carrots and the red cabbage, so the amounts will no doubt vary in the future as well. It's also difficult to achieve "complex" cooking of such sorts either when not owning anything to grate things with before this week, as "discovery" went when finally having brain capacity enough to think about anything of the sort. Two portions on the pan, and more experimenting to do later on with soy sauce, red curry paste and coconut milk likewise bought the first time now. Since whenever, anyway.

With Bill Paxton, who's squishing against my left boob. I was trying not to be a bother the way I'm wont to, so looking straight at the camera and facing ahead instead of being turned toward him, if talking body language. He on the other hand has his body turned toward me, which is funny, because the other 900+ photos from the con had maybe 5 or so pics where he did that. At least 2 of those were with people he knew before. There are many photos where people had asked for a hug or have their arms around him and they're still more so that Actors-At-Cons style "Body facing ahead even if ostensively hugging people to their side". You could joke he's more the fanboy as he's the one turned toward me. So, as per body language and his face lighting up when spotting and recognizing me in the queue for the signing at the end of the day on Sunday, Bill took to me or okayed me. I'd asked him something at the Q & A earlier, and he said "That's a bit obscure" before going on to expand about running on the bridges of London. So I "reintroduced" myself as Ms Obscure Questions before this photo, his face lighting up the first time there with that reminder. He said he'd wondered who this journalist or something in the front row was, with a badge hanging around my neck. I wasn't, but can claim "Bill Paxton thought of me" for another little something I got from it all then. 2017 was a horrendously bad year in too many ways. An earlier photo from London where I'm standing next to Alan Rickman. I look like the whitest white person ever to white in the history of whiteness, because I'm a strong contender to winning the Whiteness games if talking "Pale much?" sides. I'm maybe an inch shorter than both Bill in the previous picture and Rickman here. We're outside the ex-Albery Theatre's blue stage door, from when he was doing Private Lives. My hair is outgrown and paled pinkish tones here, light brown otherwise. Both Bill and Alan Rickman are wearing dark colours, whereas I'm in a red t-shirt in the previous picture, and a shiny black PVC latex style coat here, with a bag hanging down from my right shoulder. I'm holding some magazine and papers that he signed before this, their shining excessively white because of the flash. A "one time use", disposable camera pic for this one, as it was all I had then.

Ooh. The astro lot are good. Now I know where the new (intergalactic whatever it was) comet 3 (is it i or L or what?) Atlas whatever is if it's conjunct Mars now. 🤔 Which was around 5,5 degreeish Scorpio yesterday or earlier as recall.

Transits for October 2nd, mostly outer planet ones at the top and lower down Moon ones and Venus conjunct South Node in Virgo. In the middle of the chart there is "Mars conjunct 3l/Atlas" (or 3I/Atlas, as if you can tell. Fonts, please) with 0 degrees 25' Scorpio in the middle column, "Today 2:24pm" for BST. The numbers hae been the orb or how far apart they've been as I recall. More still as Mars is probably close to 6 degrees Scorpio tomorrow as said. Veery interesting in any case, the comet with it. I expect it'd have been seen as double malefic in days of yore, with Mars counted as a malefic (at home in its own sign now, stronger probably), and comets being those big no-nos.

Forbidden jelly baby, or "Jolly Rancher" (in the States?) dioptase that looks like candy or sweets and as if you could just squeeze it and it'd be all bouncy bouncy squishy squish between your fingers. Turquoise colour and as if lit up from behind, if not inside it. A brain shaped dioptase with as if a nose sticking out, and two eyes, with a mouth drawn in by me likewise for further emphasis, along with the other features even more naturally there. An amazing looking explosion of a starburst of a flower shape on an Alamy-site photo of dioptase. The centre is turquoise colour, and the edges of the "blades" or petals of the flower end up darker blueish violet colour, which continues behind it in the smaller cuboid shapes that get darker still. The lowest part of the starburst flower look white with flecks of yellow or gold, so it reminds you of space with its haze making for the starburst thought with it. Very dark green lustrous dioptase crystals that look almost black. This is a night queen that sparkles. And makes for sparks if you heat it up, being pyroelectric AND phleochroic, changing colour depending on how you look at it. Copper silicate (CuSiO3·H2O). Its lustre is vitreous, glass-like, to sub-adamantine, so we're talking Wolverine shit here, folks.

Dioptase and malachite by Louis Verschuren. From Tsumeb in Namibia. It looks like deep emerald crystals having Forbidden Broccoli growing over the top right side. Something that looks like a slice of some quiche or pie the Brits favour, with the golden brown crust visible more on the right and top of it. Inside it there is as if either the dioptase teal green vegetable filling, or someone having made Forbidden Jelly marmalade of dioptase, and stuffed that inside the pie crust instead. Mmm, pie. Cronch pie. Broccoli-ish looking green Dioptase from Renéville Mine, Kindanba District, Republic of the Congo. Saved from some Singaporean Etsy page. Rhodochrosite or magnesium carbonate that looks like a tiny smoked ham. Browned crust otherwise and sliced bit on the left showing the red meat inside. It's a lot like the crust of the forbidden pie in the previous image. From Sarah A. Hill's Yummy Rocks page, but she didn't know its source either.

Dioptase that is BLUE. A druzy dioptase crystal specimen from Namibia. There is a cube forming at the bottom left, but it's a translucent ghostly version of a Borg cube assimilating into the galaxy of dioptase above and in part around it. Peruvian mined Druzy Dioptase with blue Barite for its fans. A geode with the blue broccoli style parts above a white cauliflower base.

A very vivid, almost apple green, round, cut gemstone crystal of dioptase. Worthy of the Desert Queen, Emerald Copper! The middle is darker and the bottom the lightest green. When first found, people thought it really was emerald, so a precious stone as well as rare. Dioptase has risen yearly and deserves to be crowned as a contender over years now. Tugtupite is here the first year, and fun enough that I'd love to see it next year as well, so vote dioptase into the final round! From Alamy, so their text is written over the image.

They are characterized by the existing pyroelectric effect: If a pyroelectric crystal is heated, a measurable voltage generates on its surface. From this voltage, one can deduce the temperature change of the crystal. Thus, a pyroelectric sensor is a temperature sensor. There is a profound relationship between pyro and piezo sensors: Every pyroelectric crystal is also a piezoelectric crystal (but not vice versa). To understand this, let us again look at the arrangement of the individual atoms: Figure a.) shows the piezoelectric hexagonal crystal from the previous chapter. Let us now imagine that this crystal is slightly longer in one direction than in the other – figure b.). As you can see, this piezoelectric crystal is now asymmetric around the center and no longer electrically neutral. One can deform this new crystal with an external force, which still leads to the piezoelectric behavior explained before. However, we do not necessarily have to apply an external force to deform the crystal. Another possibility is to simply HEAT the crystal, causing it to expand. This expansion increases the asymmetry of the crystal, because the atoms (as seen in figure b.)) lie asymmetrically around the center. In summary, this means: Heating a pyroelectric crystal leads to an expansion of the crystal lattice. Due to the piezoelectric effect, this expansion of the lattice now leads to a measurable electrical voltage. The piezoelectricity part is explained first on the site, but as the focus here is pyro being better or more expansive, that came first. Here is the piezoelectricity explanation from the site. In short, expansion, asymmetry, zap. Expansion through heating makes things even easier, but only pyroelectric things are ALL also piezo ones. "Figure a.) shows the atomic arrangement of an “ordinary” non-piezoelectric crystal. The red dots represent positively charged atoms, the blue dots negatively charged atoms. Such an atomic structure appears electrically neutral to the outside because the negative and positive charges are symmetrical around the center (the red-blue star) and therefore cancel each other out. Even if this quadratic atomic structure is compressed by a force, the atoms still lie symmetrically around the center and the configuration appears electrically neutral to the outside. The situation is different with piezoelectric crystals. The atoms of many piezoelectric crystals also lie symmetrically around the center when no force acts on them. Figure b.) shows such a piezoelectric crystal. However, if a force acts on this atomic structure, the shape changes drastically. You can see that the atoms are now no longer symmetrical around the center. The positive and negative charges can no longer cancel each other out and a charge imbalance occurs. This imbalance manifests itself in an electrical voltage."

Yeah. Not sure if "nicest/kindest" would've been the exact words I'd have used for Gaiman but he was known to sign for everyone & never seemed even aggravated any time I saw him at signings/cons.

Me in a black Cobra logo t-shirt, the logo unusually in a camo pattern instead of red. I have red hair "cascading" or sloping down the sides of my head or shoulders or all. I'm at Harrods back when Coraline came out, the pic being cropped on the right side. From a signing. Still from when I had my dark red hair. I have a dark red shirt, a slightly faded pinstripe jacket in purple over it, and a dark green scarf hanging down from my shoulders. In both this and the previous photo I'm looking straight at the camera and doing what someone called my Elysia-smile, a bit clearer than Mona Lisa's but lips usually closed. An autumn photo, possibly early November as it happened the signings usually happened at my birthday or the other one's. I share my birthday with Tori Amos, there being a long history of little things that now end up with extra baggage. I'm in front of a red sign on the wall, with a white question mark cropped out from above me. A bookstore in Bath had a signing, and I once again managed to look good compared to many other photos. But there is again that "since last year or so revealed to be problematic" author on the right, in a black t-shirt + leather jacket. I just "Spot fix"-clicked some over the face, so now it's more akin one of Dream's faceless nightmares if you like. Apt or not.

Deep emerald green that looks like forbidden sugar coated jelly marmalade candy bonbons in white quartz. In the shape of a pair of breasts on a torso. The full shape of it here resembles either of the American continents or Africa. Irocks text below: "This is a super unusual and sculptural Dioptase miniature featuring a dual cast of Dioptase after botryoids of a previous and now exsolved mineral, maybe Smithsonite? The interior of this attractive cast is lined with small, scintillating crystals of emerald green Dioptase that sparkle with any amount of ambient lighting at any orientation! A few tiny, yellow Wulfenite crystals are scattered at the periphery for added contrast along with the white Quartz crusts for accent. The back of the piece reveals the botryoidal nature of the original mineral and also has additional Wulfenite crystals present. Casts of secondary minerals are not uncommon from Tsumeb; however, those with Dioptase are very rare!" From the IG video: These new dioptase casts are really cool! Pseudomorphs after botryoids of likely shattuckite or malachite, they recrystallized in multiple generations making the interior surface sparkly with microcrystals. This one is unusual because you also see partial casts comprised of a generation of quartz(?) that grew before the dioptase. Small yellow mimetite crystals are sprinkled around the edges, adding a nice dash of contrasting color.
