I don't get them as frequently but I do get them every now and then. It is completely random with no warning or reason. They completely flatten my ass every time and I am just stuck in bed. Also they make me nauseous so I end up puking a lot.

Good Luck! I had mine taken out. 4 small incisions and I was able to walk out of the hospital, though I was sore as hell. Take the pain meds and just go full potato for a while! It was 100% worth it to never have to endure pain of Gall stones ever again. You got this!

Even if it is the exact same hardware wise, there is going to be some differences with your programs, files etc. It very well could just be some weird conflict with something else on your system your spouse doesn't have.
Otherwise it could just need a fresh install of the drivers.
