I painted cargo ships while taking care of my mother and living in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Book readers on the beach, sitting in their beach chairs, would look up occasionally to see the ships on the horizon slowly sailing towards the Baltimore port.

I was asked in Kindergarden what I wanted to be when I grew up, I listened to my school mates say nurse, fireman, policeman, ballerina,etc. When it was asked, I said very excitedly that I wanted to be a Zebra! I didn't understand why everyone laughed.😅
