My debut album 𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓝𝓸𝓻𝓶𝓪𝓵 𝓓𝓲𝓼𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓼 𝓸𝓯 𝓛𝓲𝓿𝓲𝓷𝓰 is OUT! There’s seven songs. They’re not uniform. They’re a little messy, like me, and the album tells a story a bit like I do – I meander a bit but I get there <3

Or, are you after shorter book, easy and beautifully rendered?

Here are two stories set about nine centuries apart. Both I started and couldn't stop. They were a surprise and for them I'm grateful. Vivid, strong characters. Both beautiful.

Day by Michael Cunningham and Matrix by Lauren Groff.

You enjoy stories about women that are, complex, multitudinous and vital? Full of humour and anger and generosity? Two of my favourite reads this year were Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo and the Alternatives by Caolinn Hughes and they both made me ~feel~ a lot.

I got really into Greek and Roman mythology retellings this year. If you, like me, dig magical stuff and mythical origin stories that fill you with wonder and delight and take you into the minds and mayhem of Mt Olympus, try Mythos by Stephen Fry, Circe by Madeline Miller or Psykhe by Kate Forsyth.

Oh you want non-fiction! You want a rip-roaring true story of family, obsession, faith, trauma and how we cope, that you won't be able to put down? Great. Try Australian Gospel by Lech Blaine. This is going to go down as a classic. J'adore.

Okay, you want heartache? To learn and to love and to be broken and mended? I've got you!

The Great Believers by Rebecca Makkai is sexy, defiant, furious and hopeful. It's a chunky read and worth your down time.

You want brutal, essential and gripping? The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead is it!

Want something light, fun, silly, cute? Something to ease you into the break? Try Emily Henry. I am ashamed to say I used to turn my nose up at romance novels. But these are pure feel-good.

Too silly? Fine. Try The Rachel Incident by Caroline O'Donoghue. Gritty, honest, funny yet tragic. Loved it
