Well, Middle English was. Modern English has absorbed words from many languages. You have an avatar on your Bluesky account. You might - for example - live in a bungalow with a verandah and wear jodhpurs, dungarees or pyjamas, drink punch or eat chutney, All those came from India ...

Welsh is one of a group of languages defined as Celtic and most closely resembles Breton and Cornish - the Brittonic group. Irish and Scots Gaelic and Manx are known as Goidelic and are very different!

Most sets built in the 1970s had at least 4 buttons you could pre-set. If you lived on the borders of ITV regions you could sometimes get 3 different stations - where I lived in 1982 I could get Anglia, Central and (weather permitting) Yorkshire. Had my computer and VCR on another! All before C4.
