When we first bought this place I was in a full spiral till I figured out there were actually different colors of nearly identical light beige on different walls within some rooms

No, there was no explanation or response at the time - eventually KQED picked up on the Reddit thread www.kqed.org/news/1205746... The whole thing certainly seemed like a very near miss of a much worse outcome
