We JUST had a cycle of someone posting their rough/beginner/“bad” art and a ton of other artists going “ooh that is challenging, here’s my try” and suggesting ways to tackle it.

I know that’s not the whole Internet but it’s not like everyone is lurking here, waiting to mock anybody for trying.

This was my overriding thought after reading her conversion comic! (I found out about her through an earlier hobbydrama post.)

I think it shows genuine pain (which is why it all stuck with me, probably) but I keep thinking “sure but have you tried noticing how incredible ferns and mushrooms are?”

One of my very favorite things to do is read (or reread) a graphic novel in one sitting. It feels absolutely decadent, I love it.
