Standing room only at the community meeting calling on the Tasmanian Government to take salmon farms out of Long Bay on the Tasman Peninsula. This would be consistent with Recommendation 3 of the 2022 Parliamentary Inquiry, but the government refuses to implement this recommendation.

31 orgs have published an open letter with 10 asks for the environment from whomever forms Tasmania's next government. When crossbenchers and major parties have struck successful power-sharing agreements elsewhere, they covered policy as well as procedure, making now the time for progress.

What a delight to meet Clara Tome today from the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature at the UN Ocean Conference.
As part of a panel of experts she outlined progress towards legal recognition of the ocean’s fundamental rights.
