Retired after varied career, most recently NPS ranger. Now woodworker, gardener, home chef, cat herder. Honorary Mexicano. Cranky Democrat.
I don't often follow back but it doesn't mean I don't like you. Usually.
No follow lists!
Coming weekend forecast for highs in the 50s; time for some firewood. Speaking of heat - to hell with the senators who capitulated. Aren't most of them retiring at end of term? Useless.

Good Monday, MJ & friends! Got some litter pickup done, more today. L finished door painting, now for new weatherstrips. Broil came out good 5 minutes direct each side, about 15 indirect to M/R temp. Horsey dip tonight, baked fresh sourdough loaves this morning.

Worth repeating:

Really need to check that on the truck.

That 7500 mile interval sure goes fast on the Honda! Truck does its own thing; computer calculates oil change based on engine revolutions and oil temperature history.

Don't let dealer or oil place sell you anything extra. Shouldn't need anything except oil and filter.

Butcher cut us a 2 1/2 lb London Broil with a little fat on one side and inside. Prepped last night for tonight's dinner. And LOTS of sandwiches. Sourdough rolls a must. Might also cube some to dip in horseradish sour cream. Highs in 60s, time to hit our litter pickup route.

Got it from a pic of original WW2 poster, cleaned it up a little, manipulated to center in the space.

Price is right on the hams, about $3.25 / lb. Have to cut in half to fit slicer, but fits sandwiches better that way.

Interesting. Probably papain tenderizer, maybe bard with some of the fat.

Gracias! I have a couple of big burls, alligator and oak. Trying to figure out what to do with them... After I finish the cabinet project that has 2 sheets plywood taking up the shop.

Took a day off from painting. Groceries, etc, kitchen stuff; sliced the carver ham we got last Sam's trip, packed ckn breasts, Bagged chipotle & Big Jim peppers.
To gym in a few minutes, then see if grocery can cut a London broil with a little fat on it. They tend to seriously over-trim.
