Well, it's New year's Eve and I can honestly say this has been a fucking horrible year, in a single year of the Trump Putin dark comedy duo we've managed to start the next arms race, job loss increases due to AI, crippling cost of living,.....

Looking for feedback from any US peeps as I'll admit to some confusion. Do you guys have public libraries, public parks, public schools etc that are free to use for all, that everyone pays for with taxes, for the good of the people and society? If so are they considered to be 'Commie' institutions?

Interesting evening of watching The Stand with my son. Las Vegas and Flag looked so much more familiar now with Trump and MAGA than it used to. But no nukes here, no hand of god, no free zone, just the continual spread of intolerance, lies and manipulation across the world. The beast is born.

I'm finding social media utterly drowning in trollish and bot based hatred. Even here, bluesky is falling fowl to it. I understand the psychology motivation, the societal shifts it causes. But the ultimate goal? There's no good end result here, civil war, dystopian control, it's all just shit.

It feels like we're living through the crusades again. Extreme orthodox Christians dictating policy whilst pointing at Muslims claiming they're the problem. Can't we just agree that religion (and the Uber rich- because you know...hoarders) are the root of all our problems.

Although the highlight of perimenopause and menopause in women was refreshing, its now moving into this weird patriarchal place. A woman of this life space can no longer just be angry, it's now menopause, they can't be dissatisfied because it's menopause, your partner can't be a dick, i's our fault

Well that was one seriously depressing birthday! No-one even said happy birthday to me until 10:30pm when my husband eventually remembered. He reminded my kids (fair enough teens, so you know, if it's not about them...) who responded with yeah they knew but they were waiting for the cake?!?
