we already live in a world where 90% of us are economically IRRELEVANT. the majority of "money" that's moving are sums that are so huge as to be abstract passing between the largest companies while in reality people get squeezed for frankly no reason. the weston family doesn't need my damn cash.

i know this isn't the spiciest take ever but i feel like i never see anybody else saying *groceries* should be free and fuck you they should be

this extends to things like construction and rent. make people who want to build an extension on their lake cottage pay through their teeth, bleed companies renting warehouse spaces dry if you like, but no citizen should ever owe ANYTHING for their primary residence or necessary renovations to it

i don't care how this is achieved, whether it's done with public funds raised through high taxes, or if a universal SNAP-style program that's frequently indexed against those categories lets people pay without using personal funds, but either way no individual should spend a red cent on necessities

ish? like i kinda get the impulse because if i'm really excited about something it's because i have a really specific thing in my head and if i didn't measure up i would get discouraged, but it's mitigated by knowing i don't have to do the thing only once, like i can always just do it again one day
