If the definition of AGI is something along the lines of “doing everything that human experts can do,” then there’s a massive hole in the current capability set of AI: story/narrative/fiction. It’s college freshman level at best. It ain’t writing world class literature next year, that’s for sure.

He’s completely delusional if he thinks AGI is coming next year. If the “G” includes narrative, literature, and fiction, AI is currently absolute shit at that, and it’s not getting to expert level next year.

I hear you, I miss that too. It’s different, but Substack is eithout a doubt the place on the Internet right now for quality longform writing.

Would it make sense to offer a PDF/ebook option, so people can get access to it at a more regular book price - and then the people who want the physical copy can pay more?

Also, remember a lot of hardcovers these days are $35-plus, so it's not so wild to charge that much for a book these days!
