I went to the GP with an umbilical hernia and bloating. After urgent referral, I was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei. Had surgery in 2023 and my last CT scan was clear. If you have symptoms, get checked out.

Nifty! I must try this with my Vegepod this year. I’ve usually planted in rows, but this would make better use of limited space.

Happy Birthday! Loving the view of snow topped mountains. Had a view of Ben Wyvis when growing up as a child and teenager. The snow cover heralded the start of Winter and the deminishing snow, the start of warmer Spring weather. 🗻

For me, owing to past surgery and change in metabolism, an omnivorous diet no longer suits as I don’t seem to metabolise animal fats. The reduction in cholesterol following a mostly vegan diet was an ‘experiment’ that has proven results for my health needs and I will now continue to eat this way.

Was able to reduce high cholesterol levels of 8.1 to ‘normal’ 5.4 within 6 weeks, reducing animal fats following a plant-based, nutrient-rich diet and regular exercise. GP was stunned with the change. However, still opted to go on a low-dose statin owing to my individual risk factors.

Really? Surely not?

Meanwhile, attempt to minimise the damage with strong opposition to this madness. Otherwise, there will be an even bigger mess to clean up.

My handwriting has deteriorated over the years as I use keyboards so much on digital devices.

Specifically, I’d be interested to know about the impact of losing spleen, gallbladder etc on lipids. A high cal/high fat diet was recommended after surgery to counter weight loss and to assist with recovery. However, in my case my cholesterol levels shot up. Would organ loss also contribute?

Would it be possible to have more information about this research?
