since I’ve spent the last six years in college and then grad school fall has tended to be a dark and stressful time despite my attempts to romanticize it… this year im forcing the cozy vibes with my first fall in my own apartment with a full time job 🥹🍁🎃

Even if you follow his line of thinking I think some people (maybe not him) genuinely can’t handle the possibility that not every promising young person “makes it out”. The truth is too tragic so we believe they couldn’t have done it anyways.

If urban and rural ways of life were not different there would not be so many fetishized narratives about moving from one to the other. (Small town kid moves to the big city, the successful writer retreats “off the grid”).
