Agree with your definition. Per UN, Hutus killed 500K-1 million Tutsis & only 3-400,000 survived. There are several million Palestinians. Not all dictators are Hitler. Not all killings of civilians are genocide even if killings are war crimes. I oppose Netanyahu, favor 2 states & precise language.

Agree that genocide is the aim of destroying nation/group. Numbers matter. Between 500,000 &1 million Tutsis killed by Hutus. Only 300-400,000 survived per UN. There are millions of Palestinians in Gaza. Perhaps war crime.Not all dictators are Hitler. Not all killings of civilians are genocide.

Please do not cheapen genocide. Turks murdering 1/2 of all Armenians, Nazis murdering 90% of European Jews, Stalin murdering 7million Ukrainians are genocide. The death of 40,000+ Gazans (likely 10,000 of them armed combatants) is not genocide. It might be a war crime and is certainly a tragedy.

Please do not cheapen genocide. Turks murdering 1/2 of all Armenians, Nazis murdering 90% of European Jews, Stalin murdering 7million Ukrainians are genocide. The death of 40,000+ Gazans (likely 10,000 of them armed combatants) is not genocide. It might be a war crime and is certainly a tragedy.
