On the plus side, the darts that ICE keeps throwing at Chicago PD could end up driving a wedge between the two. Keeping local PD more firmly on the side of the local government is probably helpful

Legit curious if a notable number of users actually asked for AI anything. Having to sift through about:config to turn off obscure settings isn't really the same as having a choice, especially if the settings get changed back if some MBA decides usage isn't high enough.

A nice thing about Masto is that likes are likes, and the poster sees them, but bookmarks are just for you, and nobody else sees them. That makes sense to me because sometimes I want to find my way back to a post without bothering everyone else about it. I don't know if that's how bsky did it

To me the important question is "how do we shepherd useful candidates through the system to victory in the next 2 elections" - today's democratic party isn't doing it. A splinter republican party would be a big help. Without that, in 3.5 years the election is more of a formality.
