And then in the late 30s they ended up in Watford running the One Crown (top M.R. James name btw) until 1943 I believe when Georgina Elliman (née Limonde) died. Gramps then became a postman. He always took me in there for half a shandy after we went swimming in Watford Baths.

I know that @thisnorthernboy.bsky.social thinks I am posh, but to prove I am an anomaly in my family's history, I finally found a photograph of my old family pub in Liverpool. My Gramps, Cyril Limonde Elliman (hence Ellimondo), was born there in 1913. Looks… er, nice?
