I think the difficulty of the read is a feature. It lends it a feeling of being trapped in a maze or a spiral, sinking deeper into fear and paranoia.

Loved the whole thing, even the messy first hour. The last two hours had my friend and me so stressed out we had to hold each other for comfort

It's my favorite of the year so far. Only things I could ask for are a hard mode and a Dark Arisen style expansion.
