I don't say this to imply we should take this less seriously. In fact, I think this makes the threat to our world even more dangerous. If we do not dethrone and dismantle the tools of the oppressor, nothing will be left.

A wise and scheming elite would not prop up a system through which they control the future of the many, in which they can control how education is given out, who it is given to, how much it will cost them, only to destroy it. It is such a powerful tool to wield, only to throw a tantrum and toss out.

but its much more akin to a few rich idiots, overly self-sure that they are the pinnacle of humanity, unleashing a horde of rabid bulls they cannot possibly regain control of once the carnage is done.

I understand conservatives want to dismantle education, but ultimately, it's not because they're intelligent super-villains, plotting and scheming how to take over. They aren't doing this for any reason other than because they're fucking idiots. There is no other reasonable explanation.
