Here's a lil update on how things have been going during my health hiatus 🫠

I'm currently prepping for my first stream back and I'm nervous and excited 🫣
A Discord announcement from Ellie's community discord. It reads as follows: June 8, 2025 Ellibutt/BUTTllie Yesterday at 16:53 @everyone Hey y'all! I hope things have been going well for you so far this summer! ☀️ I want to update y'all on how things have been going for me during my time away from streams. I had been hoping that by now I'd be feeling much more like myself. Unfortanately... that's not the case. Although my thyroid levels are finally where they should be, I still feel like hot garbage I’m dealing with a lot of fatigue, pain, and my heart rate thinks it's super cool to act like I just ran a mile back in high school, except all I did was shower After going over everything with my new doctor, he suspects that my body has decided to play Pokemon with autoimmune issues (no body, we don't have to catch them all). I now have an appointment with a rheumatologist in August (the soonest they can get me in), and am calling tomorrow to schedule a neurology appointment (as I recently learned that my Aunt has MS). Hopefully these doctors will be able to rule out scary things and get me moving towards figuring out what shenanigans my body is pulling. In the meantime, I had been planning on returning to streams starting this week. After talking it over with my therapist, she encouraged me to gently try streaming again once or twice a week to see how my body handles it. So I’m planning to dip my toes back in with a stream this coming Tuesday! I've also commissioned a GIFtuber version of me for the days when my energy is super low, that way I can still stream without pushing myself too hard. I'm hoping to have that done by the end of July 🤞 Gotta make sure I focus on listening to my body, even when it's being utterly ridiculous Thank you all for being so supportive and patient as I navigate all this. This is what 1 week's worth of meds for me currently looks like. This would have scared the fuck out of younger me, but now I know these are what I need at this point in my life, on my journey to feeling better.

Meds are not the enemy, & you are perfectly valid if you need them to exist 💜

Hey y'all, it's been a while 💜 I've been dealing with some health stuffs, and finally have one answer as to what's been going on with me.

While I adjust to my diagnosis and new meds, I'll be taking a break from streams until June 9, 2025. Here's hoping I'll be feeling like myself again soon 🤞

I hope your weekend has been going well! :heart emote: So, as some of you know, I've been dealing with some health issues for quite a while now. Between doctors not believing me/not running the tests I wanted, or me not having the spoons to push back/pursue things, it’s taken longer than I’d hoped to get some answers. I’m not done figuring everything out, but I do finally have one solid answer for why I’ve been feeling so awful. And funny enough, it’s something I’ve talked about on stream before. As it turns out, I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. This is a chronic auto-immune disease that essentially makes your immune system see your thyroid as the enemy and attack it. It causes some super fun symptoms like fatigue/lethargy, cold sensitivity, joint pain, depression, anxiety, and brain fog. You can also experience throat pain from your thyroid becoming enlarged (called a goiter), which is something I'm experiencing. :dead bear emote: And because my white blood cells are apparently overachievers, I now officially have Hypothyroidism too! :this is fine bear emote: That’s when your thyroid gland isn’t producing enough hormones, leading to a lot of the same symptoms as Hashimoto’s, with a few bonus ones like weight gain. So... what does this mean for me? Well... The good news is there’s medication to replace the hormones my thyroid isn’t making, and I started it last week. I'll be having more frequent blood work to monitor my thyroid levels so my medication can be adjusted as necessary. And since I have an autoimmune disease, this means I can have flare ups. With all of that in mind, I’ve decided to take a short break from streaming to let my body rest and give the medication a chance to start working. I've got more bloodwork scheduled for the end of this month and a follow-up with my doctor in early June, so my current plan will be to return to streams on June 9, 2025. I know that was a lot to read, but thank you for sticking with me through all of it. I hope y'all will bear with me while I adjust to my new normal, both physically and mentally. I'm hoping I'll come out the other side feeling like myself again :crossed fingers emote: I'll still be around in the discord, posting memes and what not. And I may even hop into voice once my throat starts feeling better! And if I have the energy :sleeping bear emote: While I’m reminding myself to rest and take care of my health, let this be your little nudge too. Hey y'all. I haven't really been on social media this past month or so due to icky brain weasels. Here's a quick update about what's been going on with me. I should ✨hopefully✨ be back to streams next week 🤞

Hey y'all. I know I’ve been really quiet lately, so I wanted to check in and let y’all know what’s been going on. First, some good news—my PC is finally fixed! Turns out the issue was my motherboard. Thankfully, we were able to get a new one and everything is back up and running after my partner replaced it. I can’t even begin to tell you how relieved I am to have my setup working again... 😮‍💨 As for why I’ve been so silent… honestly, I’ve been struggling. This time of year is always rough for me because of two anniversaries related to my late mom. I was already feeling like I was barely holding it together, trying to stay busy so I wouldn’t fall into a depressive hole. But when my PC died, it kind of felt like the last straw. That hole I was hoping to avoid? Yeah… it swallowed me up, and even after my PC was fixed, I couldn’t quite pull myself back out. 😓 On top of that, ADHD paralysis has been making everything feel impossible. There’s so much I wanted to do with this downtime—make YouTube videos, working on backend stream stuff I've neglected for ages, even just updating y'all—but my brain refused to cooperate. And, of course, that only made the depression worse. It’s such an awful cycle to get stuck in. And because life likes to pile things on, I caught the flu that’s been going around. Although thankfully I'm like, 95% over that finally. Oh, and I’d be lying if I said the state of things in the US right now hasn’t been weighing on me too. It’s just... a lot. deep breath I’m taking things one step at a time, trying to be gentle with myself as I work my way out of this funk. I really miss y’all, so I’m hoping to be back to streaming next week—but I’ll make the final call on that this weekend. In the meantime, I hope you’re all taking care of yourselves and each other. 💜
