vulnerably: yes it was helpful for me! it didn't teach me to 'mask,' instead it completely rid me of my obsessions. / imo, ERP actually required 'unmasking.' i could hide my compulsions, but confronting my fears w/o compulsive soothing behavior, at first, made me volatile in a way I could not hide

+ for me, a productive discipline while researching = researching with sharp intention / with an eye on who holds power / and with strong political principles. I have to regularly remind myself to check in on these -- if I lose focus, it's easy to waste energy chasing details that don't matter (2/2)
