Jesus warned us of this at his parable of wheat and weeds (Matt 13). He said his enemy would over-sow his field (church) w/ weeds and they’d grow together, only revealing in the last days which was from Jesus and which from Satan, by the fruit they produced. He said the weeds will be destroyed.
