Democrats must erect a framework that encompasses the totality of the Trump era’s blatant disregard for the law. Watergate was about the actions of a president. The post-Trump legal process is the prosecution of a vast criminal conspiracy.
Will the Trump Administration be held accountable for its sweeping crimes?

Thank you @adamkinzinger.substack.com for pointing this out. No one else seems to be talking about it.
Just a reminder that Trump was going to announce his sanctions on Russia for not negotiating “in two weeks” about 3.5 weeks ago.

A pox on both their houses.
If yesterday's acrimony doesn’t go away very soon, the Trump-Musk rift creates peril for both Trump’s authoritarian project and the tech oligarchy.

And ‘small’ can be something of a misnomer. Size matters less than operating philosophy, which is patient centered. Big hurdle can be changing regimented meal service to giving residents freedom to choose when and what they want to eat. Also, consistent staff assignments.
"Both the federal and state governments can play a role in incentivizing nursing homes to undertake the expensive task of transitioning to the small household model." ---Charles P. Sabatino

Good luck with that, given our current administration and Congress...

Fellow Americans: We're now in deep authoritarian-fascist mode. If anyone doubts this, they should Google the history of Germany from 1933-1939. That is, while that information is still available on Google.

Yes. Dan Bongino.

Not to mention nearly 2/3 of nursing home stays.
"Medicaid covers half of all long-term care spending, according to KFF. That care is key for women, who live longer than men."
This week for @19thnews.org I wrote about some of the people who rely on Medicaid, the popular public health care program for millions of Americans — and a program that some Republicans are reportedly weighing cuts to: 19thnews.org/2025/02/medi...

A great irony is that the Republicans are more fearful about the possibility of losing their own jobs than they are about the possibility of literally thousands of Federal employees losing theirs for no good or legal reasons.
I see more criticism here of Democrats in Congress than I do condemnation of Republicans.

And yet it is the GOP who are enabling Trump.

It tells me a lot when I see you regularly bash our side but say nothing, ever, about the other.

Reflect on your choices. You may be helping the fascists.

We need journalists to channel their inner Hunter S Thompson for the next 4 years.
So who in the media is going to RELENTLESSLY ASK JD Vance & Pam Bondi why they said violent rioters who attacked police on Jan 6th should not & would not be pardoned?

They were wrong, weren’t they.

WHO IS GOING TO HOUND THEM WITH THIS QUESTION???

So right now it's been referred to the SC House of Rep's Committee on Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs. Sponsor is a Dem in a state with supermajority in House of Reps. and Senate who has no idea if it will pass.

Chilling, wrong-headed and dangerous. I hope this does not get buried in the daily firehose of other news. It's an indication that people's rights in end-of-life issues can be vulnerable to attack. And if ever there was another good reason to have an Advance Care Directive, this is it.

Was a little skeptical about watching this, but it was surprisingly good, mostly owing to Ted Danson's charm and very solid secondary characters. A few of the usual over-the-top stereotypes about elders, but many nuggets of truth too.

Of COURSE it is, New York Times. The writer lumps us all together into one negative stereotype. To put it in culinary terms, it's the distastefully bitter serving that results when ageism is the recipe's main ingredient.
