Managed to get some more information on the little blue pot: it is from the Renaud perfume company which was founded in 1757 by M. Laugier and was the oldest perfumery in Paris. (cleopatrasboudoir.blogspot.com/2013/04/rena...)
It would have said:

Pere et Fils
Rue Bourge-Fabbé
N.° 41 à Paris

These ones were fairly small jugs but they could be any size. They had many uses, mostly for storage of food and drink, decanting wine, and transporting goods. They’re also known as Bartmann jugs!
