That is not an apt comparison. Hogg was proposing, as an official, to intervene in the primary process and support people he considered to be "ineffective". That is not his job as an official. He made this about himself, but it wasn't, not really.

He is a horror. Total and unmitigated. I hope Sen. Cassidy understands now how truly wrong he and his fellow Committee members were to advance Brain Worm Man's nomination. He needs to be removed.

We can hope. As for GOP Senators trying to ignore it all.. Most of their public comments focus on the tax cuts, I have seen. Or they lie about the Medicaid (and Medicare) cuts to follow. We shall see.
