Interesting rando dream: I dreamed that I was in my 30’s, married to E1 but living in my old university town. My old parish there had just built a new church off the freeway. It was a contemporary boxy building, but inside everything was luxe — fine woodworking, stained glass, etc.

Meanwhile, E1 was informed that she finally gets her total knee replacement — in a couple of weeks, not months as is usually the case. She is at something called Joint Camp today — no s’mores, singalongs or T- shirt. Our home is a flurry of healthcare prep.

Health update: Turned out I have a- fib, and am due to get “ zapped” soon to restart my heart rhythm. I had a disturbing mammogram that turned out to be benign, but still have to have some outpatient surgery. Other than that, I’m peachy- keen.:-(

My chest congestion has mostly cleared up, but I’nm still using a rescue inhaler maybe 3X daily.

My pollen- triggered bronchitis seems to be getting a bit better, although I had to use an inhaler when I awoke from my afternoon nap. I’ve never had allergies this bad.

Aw, shucks… my dashing hirsute veteran returned to my dreams last night. I dreamed that I had to get up in the middle of the night for some reason, and when I returned to bed he, still sleeping, put his arms around me… but then he gave me an extra little squeeze, like he was actually awake.

The brisket is AMAZING! It’s going to be repurposed into tacos tomorrow. We had it with fingerling potatoes and cucumber salad made with sour cream. a little vinegar, onion and Penzey’s Tsardust Memories seasoning.

Making Coca- Cola brisket today. It’s just brisket, chili sauce, Mexican Coke, and onion soup mix. This is a Miriam Melnick- Ezegui recipe. I’m just serving it with potatoes.

Watching a sad This Farming Life — one farm lost 100 lambs to cold, wet weather. Sometimes farming just sucks, the farmers look so defeated. Also saw pigs going on the Long Walk after the young farmer decided she vouldn’t afford to breed them. Cheery TV! Meanwhile, ouchy vehicle repair here.

Last night I dreamed about “ chicken Hypatia” and how good it was. I had to look it up this morning. Alas, it is not a real thing. But in my dream it was chicken baked with a few vegetables and white wine.

Feeling kind of wistful don’t recurring dream cast of characters and themes. Yeah, the hirsute Scotsman and my lovely twin partners are delightful. But I also like the secret house hidden inside the other house, the mystery town next door to mine, and my ongoing college career. And E1 as costar.
