Follow any upcoming confirmation hearings (there may be only a few left), and write to your senator telling them to vote against the person. Try to point to something specific that they did. Then remind the senator that they work for the constituents, not the other way around.

Timothy Snyder describes this in his book "On Tyranny." Germany's first plan was to deport all of the Jews and when that didn't work out, began imprisoning them in concentration camps.
