Finale: I guess it caught on: at least a year later, I was at a neighborhood fundraiser at the home of someone I didn't know. The host said she'd let us know when it was time to leave by "pulling an Aunt Judy," and explained it by telling me my own story.

Aunt Judy is a legend. Rightfully so.

Part 4: I live a few states away from Aunt Judy, and a few years ago, I told that story at a party in my neighborhood. People laughed and called it "Pulling an Aunt Judy."

Part 3: If guests overstayed their welcome and it was time for people to leave, she'd turn to her husband and sweetly say, "Honey, let's go to bed so these good people can get home."

That is Church Lady speak for: "Kindly get the @#$% out of my house." 🤗

Part 2: My sweet, wonderful Aunt Judy, who is about to turn 90, used to host a LOT of gatherings with her husband. She is very involved in the community, so there was always something for church or neighbors where folks came to her house.
