I managed to not shop today but wanted to add that some people live in rural areas and don't have many options for shopping at small, local businesses.

China long ago required foreign companies manufacturing there, like Apple, to partner with them. They learned how to do it themselves and then improved on the process.

I don't think they liked him. I think he played a game of providing benefits to them and they got hooked. Like how he got clients for his bank so they kept him on. He introduced people to people they wanted to know.
