So why do we think carbon capture should NOT be funded at the expense of genuine climate solutions?
First, there are technical issues and it is still unproven - it is a massive gamble!
Second, new gas projects (including 'blue hydrogen') + CCS bring big problems with methane emissions.

BECCS combines the problems of forest destruction, the emissions from shipping wood pellets AND the problems of trying to capture carbon. Carbon capture has a record of repeated failure and underachievement.
Capturing CO2 also uses 20-30% of a power plant’s generating capacity, requiring more fuel!
