This one is at Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, about twenty minutes after sunrise on July 4th, 2016. I cleared out after getting some shots at these dunes b/c I knew I was getting dehydrated & didn’t want to risk myself more than I already had.
Also, this is among my favorite shots I’ve ever taken.

It’s rare for me to get sunrise photos since I’m not usually up that early, but I do get them from time to time. This one is from July 4th, 2016, at Furnace Creek in Death Valley, CA. I camped overnight in a tent to get this. Not a good idea in July. But totally worth it!

2/2 Consider the land we took from the indigenous people. Where they were once in possession of all the lands of North America, we’ve pushed them onto reservations on land that’s barely sustainable. Consider also the Trail of Tears.

1/2 It occured to me that my example of the CIA/Chiquta treatment of “banana republics” was valid, but I could’ve used another example: the indigenous peoples or North America. I’d add Hawaii and Alaska, but I don’t know their histories well enough to comment.

Please read up on the the US’s treatment of so-called “banana republics” in the 20th century. Our government literally sponsored coups in democratically elected nations just so companies like the predecessor of Chiquita could continue abusing the laborers who harvested the fruit.

I have a friend who’s maiden name is Streams and married name is Beach. It gets even funnier if you know her first name, which I’m not about to post here for her privacy.

Sounds like agents used chemical weapons against a person simply out in the community, with no lawful reason for the use of such weapons. If that is the case, an assault prosecution against the agent(s) responsible must follow.
