Too far left for FB and too far from normal for society so I found myself here. Feral housewife by force (disabled), neurodivergent, pan/demi sexual. I spend most of my time with plants, animals and wildlife because they are more authentic than humans.
I love living in the forest. This is my morning visitor. They must have a den nearby, I love free rodent control too 😊 From counting bats 🦇 last night, to watching foxes run by in the morning and any number of local species my deck is a true wildlife viewing platform. Love it. #naturalists 🌿

A neighbour stopped us on our morning walk to say how grateful and thankful they are that our dogs are so well behaved. I said thank you and it’s work. They don’t come pre programmed. And having large breeds makes for extra responsibility. Our good poopers ☺️ #dogs #dogsofbluesky

Some of the earlier native blooms from around our yard this year. It’s will always be a work in progress but worth it. Wild roses and Thimbleberry blooms, False Solomon’s Seal, Twisted Rose Stalk and the oh so useful Heart Leaf Arnica. #naturalists #gardening #flowers #wildflowers

These are my moss pots. All collected mostly from my yard, varying in age. Featuring a few native plants, the occasional fungi and hatching insects. They are like my pets. #moss #naturalists 🌿 #gardening

Picked just over 2lbs in no time. I swear the branches said “Thank you” as they lifted up after having so much weight taken off. Just the first skim so there will be a lot of pitting this year. Not my favourite part. #gardening

Guess it’s time to start lightening the load on the cherry trees. I planted one Siberian dwarf hybrid in 2017. Now there’s at least a dozen of them. We can’t grow sweet cherries in our zone (zone 3) but we can make some spectacular pies. #gardening

My Wax Begonia. So delicate yet so strong. No direct sunlight for it but it has taken more tumbles (dogs) than I can count over the years and still brings me blooms every summer ☺️ #gardening #flowers

The flowers on my Violet Gem potatoes are just as lovely as the potatoes themselves. #gardening

I have actually managed to grow some corn from my sad little impulse buy at the grocery store. They were all in sorry shape but less than $5 bucks for 6 seedlings got me. #gardening

I have spent years building up our native flora in our yard and the Fireweed has shown an interesting characteristic in one area: multi branching flowers. It’s always one single stalk of flowers but not these guys. Nature is always interesting. #naturalists 🌿 #gardens #nativeplants #bloomscrolling.

It is that time of year here. Between berries and fungi the itch is pervasive. #fungi #fungifriends 🍄

A new find for me 😊 Red-juice Tooth, Hydnellum peckii. The rains we haven’t had in so long are bringing so much out this year. #fungi #fungifriends #naturalists 🌿🍄

A new find in our yard: iNat gave me an ID of the genus Xylaria. #FungiFriends #moss #🌿

We haven’t had rains like this year in ages. The garden is loving it; pie cherries I planted and wild raspberries the birds planted pictured here. #gardening

They are back! My Ghost Pipes are back ☺️ And more than ever with 3 clumps showing on this spot alone. This species is one that makes me feel honoured to have in my yard, a true badge of rewilding honour. #naturalists #wildflowers #gardens
