Cycling up one of my favourite hills today and heading for a Strava PB, until the feed wagon comes the other way and I have to pull over to let it pass without squishing me. Equalled my PB even with the stop but Strava calls it a 2nd place. Can I get the lorry disqualified?

I have an old OS map of the local area and use it for route planning. I colour in each road when I’ve ridden it and today went to “bag some lanes” to fill in a section of the map. Problem is, I’m getting to the point where I just have dead ends and hideous hills left in one section.

Salvador Dali’s painting of Christ on the Cross of St John: Christ hangs from a cross in the upper part of the painting as if hanging from heaven, below is a scene of two fishing boats on the shores of a calm blue sea. Clouds between the two echo the colours of the cross and the boats. One of the boats aligns directly with the bottom of the cross giving the painting symmetry which draws you down through the painting. The viewing angle (as if the viewer was above Christ looking down onto the top of his head) gives a surreal quality.

Beautiful morning. Lovely to wake up and have the beach so close. If I ever move house again I’m heading closer to the sea.

Coffee in the garden, can’t believe this is April in North Yorkshire. Doesn’t bode well for summer is April ends on 20+ degrees.
A rural garden scene: there is green lawn in the foreground and a line of hedge/trees in the near distance, a shed is nestled next to the hedge. The sun is rising behind the trees into a blue sky with wispy cloud casting shadows of the trees on the lawn. Green fields and trees stretch to the horizon.
