The text of a poem in an Apple note: after the rally we walk to the car signs still in hand crowds thin each block toss the signs in the back seat and drive traffic isn’t bad past downtown and then… then what? wait for the next one? celebrate the crowds? watch the media spin our turn out into their narrative and nothing changes while everything falls apart I guess we were there though that April day in 2025 showing each other we’re still here and see what’s happening and we wish we could do more than drive home in silence thinking about the crowds and chants and the signs in the back seat waiting to be forgotten in a pile back home
