I think that Obama is saying “If all I do is constantly criticize the admin, then my voice will lose its weight”, not that it will reduce the current President’s voice. Obama would rather speak out rarely, hoping that people will understand the gravitas of him doing so when he does.

So we KNOW that it’s preventable, even though we don’t know the cause?? 🤨🤨🤨 That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.

So I can see how some people might object to the use of the term for us. I’m in the same boat as you, without my glasses, anything more than 6 inches away is a blur. But as long as I have them on, 95% of the time life is really no different for me than a 20/20 person

I’m not sure either way, but it’s an interesting thought. Society most likely would have adapted such that not being able to walk by your own power wasn’t a hinderance to your daily life, much like when you or I wear glasses.

I guess it kind of comes down to more of a question of whether there’s some tipping point of population affliction where we no longer consider something a “disability”? If 75% of the population was born unable to walk, would we still call that a disability?

Is the fear of cis women catching strays or “leave it to the localities” really “standing by trans people” though?
