Moving from expressing grief, to avoiding it, to remembering the time before, to doing new things...

I realised that in these past few months, I have learned to oscillate. And this embodied knowledge will continue to inform my work on Mourning Spaces, and beyond. (4/4)

For my research, I came across The Dual Process Model by Margaret Stroebe and Henk Schut, which really resonated woth me. It describes how grievers live and deal with loss-oriented and restoration-oriented stressors, and the oscillation between those two spheres is where the healing happens. (3/4)

Last year, I cried, I slept, oh did I sleep! I have knitted 2 vests, 2 socks and 1 unintentionally oversized pullover, still waiting for its collar. I’ve built a morning routine, and an inconsistent evening routine to ground myself on days of grief and restlessness, and on joyful days, too. (2/4)
