324/365: discards from cooking beef stew: garlic, shallot and onion skins, and carrot tops.

323/365: I eyeballed this beef stew, just throwing in what needed to go (half an onion, a shallot, that pound of stewing beef from the freezer, potatoes, carrots, and those little tomatoes I had not eaten.) Added vegetable broth, white wine and seasonings liberally.

322/365: sunny day in between rainy weather systems, so I visited with the surfer dude.

321/365: I made Nisha's Tomato-Fennel Braised Chickpeas today. Just the right comfort food for this cold rainy weather. I am happily lapping up a bowlful right now.

319/365: the saucers at Dolce Sicilia say "Siete nel luogo in cui la vostra giornata inizia bene e finisce meglio." According to my translator, this means "You are in the place where your day starts off well and ends better."

317/365: it is raining today, so here is a throwback to a sunny day in May 2018.

316/365: got a cube croissant at the Croissante Bakery. Yes, it really is that big. A giant cube of buttery flakiness.

315/365: sitting in the corner of the sofa, this is my view: the Wild Thing, the Peep, and the Angry Bird.

314/365: I am currently reading Margaret Atwood's "memoir of sorts", "Book of Lives". This prompted me to re-read the opening of "The Handmaid's Tale", as I do every so often.

313/365: made lasagna. Didn't really read the whole recipe though, and forgot to add salt and pepper. Oh well, it still turned out alright.

311/365: the peonies look downright voluptuous now. The pink blossoms have all faded to white.
November 7, 2025 at 3:11 PM
310/365: had my hair colored, cut and styled again today. Love the results.
November 7, 2025 at 2:49 AM
309/365: yes, another peony photo.
November 5, 2025 at 4:37 PM
These peonies are so photogenic. I love photographing them with portrait mode.
November 4, 2025 at 7:23 PM
308/365: Cooking food to share with friends is love in action. I made German food for my friends last night, a meal reminiscent of my childhood: beef stewed with bell peppers and crushed tomatoes, boiled potatoes, peas and carrots.
November 4, 2025 at 2:54 PM
307/365: another sweet image of red and pink silky peonies.
November 3, 2025 at 4:49 PM
306/365: the peonies get more magnificent every day.
November 2, 2025 at 6:48 PM
305/365: the peonies are opening up. What a pretty still life.

305/365: I bought new Scheibenwischer (windshield wipers). This might be funny to some of you.
