Even such consideration hurts our tourism. Who are Americans that would give this man power? What could be demanded during visit, or to leave the country? Just too many other countries in the world to visit. Can't blame would-be tourists for viewing us as a risky, unwelcoming country to visit.

USAID was paying for the removal of Vietnam-era land mines in Cambodia. When aid was frozen, China stepped in to fund the project. Cambodia is pushed closer to China and further from us. This is an example of the soft power and humanitarian benefits of USAID.

IMO, Trump envied & considered Putin as dictator (having power of life & death) superior to himself as President of a democracy. As Trump now reaches his own dictatorship, and wielding the greater power of the US, he is more likely to feel himself superior -- depending on Putin's possible kompromat.
