“Not what anyone would call laid back”
I picked this up just today and initially wasn’t planning on reading it… until suddenly I was 15 pages in and didn’t want to put it down. The authenticity in the writing is breathtaking.

He is staring at it because Liz Taylor just opened it and told him it’s the Anthropologie rock, and isn’t it exciting, she got it on sale, and won’t it look splendid in the parlour.

I agree completely with this but am also married to someone who is very pro Santa so we’ve split the difference and Santa brings a book and a maybe a hat and all the other gifts are from mom and dad (or whomever).

This was lovely and vulnerable and affecting and I talked about it with my partner, specially how I have read both Ardemore books and as someone who is not autistic can relate Jo and truly diversity in literature and life benefits everyone.

And considering the Kings history of casting theatre actors there are truly no bad answers! I can imagine David Hyde Pierce; Rita Moreno; Kelly Bishop; Richard Schiff and Phil Davis.

And after this priestly brainstorm I want to rewatch season 2 of Fleabag.

If it were me, I would delete the “and” as you suggest, and replace the comma after “unprecedented” with a semi-colon. Then I would a comma after “it”, so that “and their loved ones at home” becomes a non-restrictive clause.

What I love about that line is her child could legitimately be extremely interesting! In influencing or art that kind of statement tends to be juxtaposed against a reality which disproves the assertion. Here the child is speaking for herself, with nothing in the text to suggest she is not correct.

My same aged child is also all graphic novels all the time! The following authors are a good place to start:

+100 for Raina Telegemier, and also
Megan Wagner Lloyd, and Christina Soontorvat.
