The black patch on her back blends in with his inky fur so you can't really tell where one cat ends and the other begins. (No, I do not know why she did this.)

In the darkness you can make out a large screen in the mid distance, where zooming in will show a blurry black and white image of a windmill ablaze. Deep red uplights make a couple of nearby trees visible, and you may be able to see a white-painted cast iron bench with a fancy scrollwork design in the foreground.

Now, THAT'S optimism! Here is Henry with his little buddy Snug. I saw the pic you posted of Ruby the other day--what a beauty! I didn't get a good sense of her size, but she looks like a big girl?

Between 4 months (1st pic) and 8 months (2d pic) the growth was unbelievable. There were a couple of months in there he put on 5 pounds a week! Suddenly one day we realized he looked like his parents after all.
Henry at 4 months, asleep on his side wearing a green bandana (it's St. Patrick's day 2021). He's still all gangly legs, coat still puppy-smooth, still looking more dark brown and yellow than grey and silver. Henry at 8 months, lying on the porch, with head upright, and now looking very recognizably like a wolfhound! His colouring is still somewhat darker than it will be when he's full grown, but it's pretty much grey and silver, and his muzzle has started getting shaggy. The tail is still absurdly long.

Nutmeg! I wuv her! (It was at just about that age that we texted Henry's breeder to demand a partial refund, as we had paid for an entire dog and were pretty sure that we now had just a collection of legs and tail!)
This is Henry now, at 4 1/2. Surely no breed's puppies looks LESS like the adults!

Henry was never actually little--when we brought him home at 9 1/2 weeks he was already nearly 30 lbs, considerably more than the (unusually big!) shih tzu we had just said goodbye to ever got. But he was once young, and even goofier than the big lug is now.
A brindled puppy, grey/brown and yellowish, long-legged and flop-eared and with a super-long tail, snoozes half-curled up on a painted grey pine floor. You would not know it at this age, but it's an Irish Wolfhound pup who will grow up to be a grey and silver brindle and weigh 165 lbs.

Our record is poor for getting our pride flag up right at the start of June, but this year we managed, inspired by several comments seen here about these flag bringing people positive moments & by the acquisition of a progress pride flag after learning about it from @plutopsyche.nicomaramckay.com.
A progress pride flag hangs from the roof of the front stoop and a rainbow flag is fastened to the railing of the accessibility ramp of an unexceptional two-story house in small-town Ontario. Their colours really pop against the beige siding in the fading light. (For those wondering, the ramp was put for my mom during the early pandemic when our house was the only place she could go.)

We brought this box from the grocery store to give to the bunny, but meanwhile Snug discovered it and now she spends all her time in it starring on her own TV channel. #Caturday

Good for them! In the pre-vaccine pandemic days, I was a caregiver for my elderly mom. Our town's only testing centre was a drive-through, and they cheerfully accommodated me on my bike many a time.
An awkward selfie in which the bottom-right half is filled by my forearm (stretched out to grip my bike handlebar)s, red t-shirt, windblown hair, and masked face (cloth mask--this was very early in the pandemic!). Behind me, at the end of a line of orange traffic cones, is the town community centre.
