I can barely be arsed at this point. Profile to come? I just miss my people from the smoking, bird-shaped crater who didn't move over to Mastodon.

elizarde/k2cuss2/EElliottKnits, in case you're wondering who the latest weirdo who followed you is.
Thank you! Yeah, I really love this version--their yarn choice is so perfect.

Fino's fibres bloom beautifully, allowing the fingering-weight yarn to work as a substitute for the sport-weight original.

+ of course, the tech editor on Mystic Beach was national best-selling author & math genius @kateatherley.bsky.social (Sorry, Kate--I couldn't resist.) #ShamelessNameDrop

Wow. Yeah. Guys! Guys! I found the point! It's right over here...no, wait, it's been pepper sprayed and hauled off by masked goons. You'll never find it now.

He is rather less pleased with the vacuum cleaner.

Cautiously pleased with his new towering edifice. It has a box that he can hide in! And places that are way up high! If he can figure out how to get up there without one of us lifting him.

Oh, and 'it's broken' means, 'it's probably a burned out motor and I can't get into the part that would let me tell for sure and also BORED NOW.'

It sure is a ride, ain't it?

I remember one time, he came gallumphing up to me at the Rail. "Did you see my girlfriend? She's sexier than you. Anyway. Check out my new hat!" *Points to his Greek captain's hat.* "Nice, eh?"

"Well, Zippy, someone's gotta be in charge. It might as well be the hat."

"Yeah!" and off he gallumphed.

I don't know your personal taste, but I find the old Star Trek series (TNG, DS9) to be like sinking into a warm bath.

Or you could watch English people politely murder each other in inexplicably killy villages. That's pretty comforting.

Yeah, he could be a bull in a china shop, but a kind of sweet bull who just wanted to look at all the pretty stuff and share that joy with his friends, so no-one could stay mad about it.

Yeah, you have to be *really* judicious with the spices. The recipe I follow uses a small amount of quatre épices, a blend of pepper, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger. It's just enough to give a warm, wintery flavour without feeling like you're at a Tudor banquet & Henry VIII is showing off.

Damn, Saveur used to have a legit recipe--it even got nod of approval from a group of Québécois when I brought it to a potluck--but it seems it has not survived intact on their website. Basically, it's meat and potato pie, usually pork + one other kind of meat.

I miss the annual Birmingham ¡HICA! xmas tamale fundraiser. Had never heard of xmas eve tamales before then, and fully endorse this tradition.

Here, I'll often make tourtière--a Québec réveillon tradition--but this year we'll be with our niece who has Celiac, so we'll give it a miss.

This. Also, they'd be so much more appealing if they smiled more.
November 24, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Aw, no. That's so hard. I'm sorry you're going through that.
November 24, 2025 at 6:04 PM
Of course! I should've known you knew him, too, probably much better than I did.
November 24, 2025 at 6:02 PM
Of course, him totally missing that it wasn't a particularly flattering comparison was also totally consistent with the character. 😂

The best! I got BOP to watch it when we were first together so he'd understand the Canuck punk scene.

Zippy Pinhead would proudly proclaim the drummer was based on him, which, 1. Was absolutely believable & probably true, 2. Wasn't really a compliment, which I never had the heart to tell him.

Hey, she did say 'might'.
