My 5 year old was the perfect beta reader! Picture book writing is such a different experience as I had to wait to see how the artist interpreted the brief, but my goodness was it worth it! Yingzhu Xue delivered! The illustrations are beautiful and feisty, just as I had hoped.

I loved learning to write for a completely different age group, especially as I used to stare at the pictures of Chang'e that graced many a moon cake tin. It was an interesting experience to think about which version of the myth I wanted to follow, & layout /word choice.

Hmmm... good question. I suspect humans flesh, but in the scene no-one thought to see if an apple would suffice, so I leave that to your imagination!

I'm sorry I couldn't get you a pony but very glad to hear you enjoyed the book! ❤️
