#CasperCat ate quite well last night, although didn’t clean the plates. His favourite was apparently not served 😐 He also ate during the day for the first time! So food is now considered if I’m absent or unconscious 😅 I’ll take it.

#CasperCat ate quite well last night, although didn’t clean the plates. His favourite was apparently not served 😐 He also ate during the day for the first time! So food is now considered if I’m absent or unconscious 😅 I’ll take it.

After not eating all day yesterday and making me fear a trip to the vet yet again… #CasperCat cleaned the plates overnight! As well as making a hole in his dry food bowl and drinking some cat milk 🎉

This morning I found #CasperCat behind the filing cabinet 🤦🏼♀️ But he still has not eaten. At this stage, I’m probably going to take him back to the vet on Sunday, get nutrients to set him up, and release him back outside on Monday 😕 I’m sad, but the message is clear.

Blood works were absolutely fine 🤦🏼♀️ We have nutritional fluids to last us for a couple more days and a low dose steroid to try and kick start his appetite. We’ll give it one more try, #CasperCat.

#CasperCat is getting a blood test to make sure there isn’t an underlying reason (other than stress and stubbornness) for the hunger strike. The vet was about to lift Casper out of his carrier without using a net and… recalling the last epoch of carnage… advised against this 😅

The previous photo looked deceptively at ease, but was in reality part of our chase around the room and into the carrier. #CasperCat reached the window bed by launching from behind the desk, up the shoji blinds, and onto the microphone boom. Here’s a more representative photo of this morning.

#CasperCat looks healthy, but with no signs of him eating, we’re going back to the vet for nutrients. We’re going to try more distant vet (about an hour) who is wonderful with… what they call… shy… cats. Otherwise known as wild murderfloofs. Despite the journey, I think it’ll be an easier for Casper

At 4am, #CasperCat quantum tunnelled through the closet barrier (which remained entirely intact) and tried to hurl himself through the patio doors. As the probability of pulling that shit off twice is low, he was apprehended but stuffed himself behind my filing cabinet and didn't eat all night.

The problem with cats—even big #CasperCats with hearts on their butts—is that they need to eat regularly. 2~3 days without food can lead to organ failure. But going to the vet for supplements is very stressful for… literally everybody… and sets back trust and progress.
So. TIME TO EAT, CASPER!
