I hope that China, India and Turkey will stop import oil, coal and other goods from Russia. If these 3 countries join the west in economic sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, Russia's fragile economy will collapse soon and the war will be over. 🕊

This is where a Prime Minister needs to be political and make a decision in favour of the wider national interest instead of allowing non-binding judgements dictate policy that a) conflicts with other responsibilities (eg justice for the Chagossians) and b) is detrimental to the national interest.

After “renegotiations”, the UK is going to *double* its payments to Mauritius to an effective £18 billion and give Mauritius a veto over the renewal of the lease.
