A model of a sandal with the Greek inscription of 'ΑΚΟΛΟΥΘ[Ε]Ι' ("follow me") on its sole. From Egypt, ca. 2nd Century AD. Commonly thought to have been worn by prostitutes but could have been worn by pimps, guides or anyone wanting to be followed.

The Egyptian temple of Horus in Edfu vs. an English factory (Temple Works).
Built in the mid-1800's and near the English city of Leeds, the factory was designed by architect Joseph Bonomi, who was helped by a Scottish painter and Egyptologist named David Roberts.
