I know someone who went to school with Daniel Craig, but says he can't remember him either.

Well done for even attempting to research a surname like 'Smith'. 😳

..parish records, which tend to be patchy, are not always available online and generally peter out...unless you find a link to a Royal or aristocratic ancestor whose lineage has been better documented.
Hope that helps a little.
Best wishes.

..history in conjunction with traditional paper research. I also think that Ancestry provides three months' access to all their records if you buy one of their kits.
I must mention, though, that in the UK, records were only centralised from the 1830s onwards. Before that, you have to rely on.../4

..pay monthly or look out for special offers. The other way of tracing your roots is to do a DNA test. I am a bit cautious about recommending them since I know many people who got unexpected results (DNA matches) and had bad experiences. But they are a very accurate way of researching family.../3

...and mother's names. If you've already got back to 1855, that's very good. You can then cross reference the names on your ancestors' birth certificates with census records and other documents. You will probably have to invest in an Ancestry subscription - but it's not too expensive if you.../2

Hello Paula and thanks for your messages!
I am afraid I don't know much about American genealogy. My focus has been on the UK. However, I think some genealogy techniques could be universal. If you cannot remember names, start off by ordering birth certificates. They should contain your father.../1

Now that you mention it, I can see a slight resemblance.

How did you come across that post, by the way?

I don't think they'll be back in government for a while - if ever. Their performance recently in the Caerphilly MS by-election was shocking. They've never been popular in Wales anyway, but I didn't expect them to only get 2%.

I also think Badenoch will be gone before too long.

Sheesh! Did the Conservative Party really get 2%?! 😳

I know they've never been particularly popular in Wales, but I didn't realise it was that bad.

Who is the first, then?

The entire ceremony of the first Academy Awards only lasted 15 minutes. Something today's show could learn from.

...someone who isn't even a supporter of the Lib Dems.

I take the view that regardless of their policies, the Lib Dem candidate won a seat, and had just as much right to be heard as Farage did. 2/2
October 19, 2025 at 8:23 PM
Not just the BBC. Why does the media in general give Farage so much free publicity? I recall when he won a seat at the last EU election. TV broadcast his speech. Then when a Lib Dem, who'd also won a seat, took to the stage, they cut back to the studio.

Totally unfair bias - and I say that as...1/2

Why do they give him so much free publicity at all? I remember when he won a seat at the last EU election, TV broadcast his speech. Then when a Lib Dem, who'd also won a seat, took to the stage, TV cut back to the studio.

Totally unfair bias - and I say that as someone who isn't even a Lib Dem fan.

I don't see a problem with others using it, per se. I just meant that for me, personally, I now view that gif very differently from how I did in the past.
