A study with data from ~14 million children shows that COVID19 infection is significantly more harmful to kids’ hearts than the vaccine.
Marty Makary falsely alleged that “children died” because from COVID19 vaccine. Whomever told him that failed to account for SARS-CoV-2 infections.

You can never be sorry enough for dropping the “h” at the end of Pittsburgh.
That h really classes up the name, you know, makes it sound like the home of a Scottish Laird n’at.
Cheers to Raleig for owning this treachery.

Today at 4:00 PM on the National Mall in Washington DC, the March for Health and Science is taking place.
If you’re in the area, we’d be grateful if you joined to support healthcare workers and scientists during this unprecedented attack by the Republican Party.

The US whooping cough outbreak continues to snowball in Texas, with cases 4x higher than last year.
Texas was also the location where the U.S. measles outbreak took hold, and like many states is seeing a rise in vaccine exemptions.
But Texans for Vaccine Choice say “fears are overblown”.

This lil fella ate about a tablespoon of butter that was accidentally dropped on the kitchen floor, and suffice to say his colon was briefly converted into a luge.

On Nov 1, the spokesman for TPUSA posted a false accusation that Halloween T-shirts worn by Cienega High’s math teachers were “mocking Charlie’s murder”.
But they also wore them last year.
Nonetheless, the teachers have been threatened by MAGA and were forced to have extra security today.

Brandi Carlile’s song Church & State got me in the place for a race.
Many race winners don’t stick around for their awards. My age group (F50-54) almost always does. My theory is that people often overlook us and our work, so when someone puts us on a podium and gives us medal, we are taking it.

The anti-vaccine movement has the same talking points now as it did in the 1800’s. It’s always been a rejection of science, scientists, and progress, with a soupçon of paranoia.
Below is a slide for a talk I’m preparing that illustrates the identical strategies. I have more examples, too.

So we had the data down to school district for Pima. Here’s a slide, but remember this was 2013.

Thought this was interesting. This slide is from a talk I gave in 2013 about our research on vaccine exemptions in AZ.
Even then, one of the hotspots for exemptions was Colorado City AZ, and as denoted by the masked emoji I just added, this is where the current AZ measles outbreak began.

The nasal spray was a new addition to my travel plan. A recent randomized clinical trial, though relatively small (n=450), showed a significant reduction in SARS-CoV-2 and rhinovirus infections with the use of azelastine nasal spray.

For masking, I used a KF94 ear loop mask in the airport and on the plane before I got ready to sleep.
I then switched to an N95, so that there was less chance of it slipping off. I used the 3M Aura mask because so many people here have raved about it. It was light and relatively comfortable. 3/5

COVID19 vaccines are best for reducing risk of hospitalization and death, but also reduce risk for infection. Protection is strongest in the first 4 weeks after vaccination, so I scheduled accordingly. 2/5

I’ve posted here a bit about my trip to New Zealand. One reason it was awesome is that I did not get sick on my 12-hour flights.
This was due to a combination of timing my COVID19 vaccine, wearing a mask the entire trip, using azelastine nasal spray, and some luck. 1/5

Governor Katie Hobbs (D, Queen) of Arizona is taking steps to help food banks as Republicans deny SNAP nutrition benefits to children.
We still need to support our local food banks if we have the capacity to do so.

The red line, added by me, depicts maternal consumption of pumpkin spice products.
His group still does not understand correlation vs causation.
